Stockings are a firm tradition between me and hubby, we give each other a stocking limit which we stick to (in the most). I also love making up a little group of stocking bits for my friends – so these are my picks of the best stocking gifting for the season. OH friends – if you are reading this then don’t be overly surprised when you unwrap some of your gifts this year!!!!
I think lovely coffee table books make for a great gift and two of my favourites this year are Hygge – The Danish Art of Happiness (£6.49) and Face (£9.99) by YouTube mega make-up duo Pixiwoo. Hygge is a stunning book with some gorgeous photography all about living a simpler life and living in the moment with a combination of recipes, craft and ideas to spend your days. Face is an ode to the expertise of Sam and Nic Chapman on all things beauty – great for the women in your life.
For the foodie I think the ‘grow’ or ‘make your own’ kits are great – like this grow your own chilli jar (£8) from Not on the High Street and the Make Your Own Chorizo Kit £14.50 also from NOTHS. For those candle lovers in your life this set of 6 candles for £12 from Next is a great buy – with scents such as Gingerbread, Figgy Pudding, Under The Mistletoe, Cream Liqueur, Mulled Wine and Roasted Chestnuts.
Nosy items are another great winner for a stocking – slippers are always a welcome gift in my opinion and these serious cute red cable ones from M&S are perfect for the lady in your life and are a bargain at £8. For the menfolk then you can’t go wrong with socks – yes it’s a typical gift but one I think is really useful – and festive socks are just perfect – these John Lewis ones are perfect for £8! Also a lovely or scarf is great gift – this popcorn knitted pomp om hat from next at £10 is stunning and would be a great gift teamed with the popcorn knitted scarf (£18) but either given alone is just as lovely!
It also wouldn’t be a stocking without some chocolate – if you fancy a step up from the classic chocolate coin then these Hotel Chocolat salted caramel buttons are just to die for (£5.50) and it isn’t Christmas without a Terry’s Chocolate Orange (£2).
So those are some of my top picks for stocking fillers this year – I think there is something in there for everyone!
Until tomorrow x
