Now I have got back from my holiday I am in full Autumn mode and I couldn’t be happier about it! I have consumed a couple (ok maybe double figures) pumpkin spiced lattes, fully embraced my hot water bottle again and have even invested in some autumnal candles to light of an evening!
But with all of that I’ve been browsing online at the new autumn collections and lusting after some statement pieces I am willing to appear in my wardrobe so I thought I would share!
First up footwear at this time of the year is always a bit of a challenge – but you cant go wrong with a good pair of classic sock boots and I love the Handsome Boot from Topshop (£85) – I really like how these go a bit higher up the leg so will look great with cut off denim. The other trend you can’t get away from in the blogging community is a loafer – I would be lying if I said I didn’t want the Gucci pair but until I win the lottery then these ASOS Magenta Loafers (£35) are a great alternative.
When it comes to bottoms I am really feeling a little leather – not real of course! I love this High Waisted Leather Skirt from Topshop (£25) and for days when I don’t want so much leg on show this Stradivarius Leather Look Midi Skirt from ASOS (£32.99) – I have a similar silk version which I get so much wear out of. I also am having a love affair with cropped trousers and these Cropped Wide Legged Trouser from Topshop (£29) are the perfect colour for autumn – paired with the loafers above and a chunky knit – gorgeous and cosy!
Speaking of knits – I love wearing a chunky knit – they are the easiest way to be super stylish this time of year. Not necessary on the chunky end but this Twist Back Longline Jumper from Topshop (£36) is not only a stunning colour but I love the back detail – I would rock this with either of the leather skirts above.
On the chunky side both this Vila Cable Knit Jumper from ASOS (£50) and the New Look Chenille Cable Oversized Jumper (£24.99) are great staples which you will go back for time and time again. I also really love the long-line style of this Knitted Polo Neck Jumper from H&M (£24.99) which is such a great weekend outfit teamed with some leggings and boots. I do look back on this wishlist and realise that pretty much everything is grey so to inject a bit of colour you can’t go wrong with this Sweater with Shoulder Embroidery from Zara (£29.99) – who doesn’t love orange! Not your thing – it also comes in black!
When it comes to tops I tend to find I wear mostly knits in autumn but there are a few gorgeous ones around. I have been a little obsessed with Pyjama style shirts – tucked into jeans with loafers I think it looks so classic – I really like this Glamourous Tall Pyjama Shirt with Contrast Piping and Floral Embroidery from ASOS (£40). For more smart occasions I really love this Cape Blouse with Fringe from Zara (£29.99) – with skinny jeans and some the Topshop heeled boots you would be ready to go from desk to drinks!
Lastly – a dress I am a little obsessed with. I tend to find my uniform is far more focused on jeans and boots but this Velvet Floral Print Plunge Dress from Topshop (£49) is just dreamy! It looks pretty low cut and I am not sure where it would be appropriate to wear but I can’t help lusting after it anyway!
I am by no means saying that I will be purchasing all or any of the above items but these are what are on my current lust lists for my autumn wardrobe! If you have found any great pieces please share below!
