You would have to have been hiding under a rock if you haven’t already heard that the much loved and lusted after brand Glossier is now available in the UK. I have been following the brand and looking like the heart eye emoji’s whenever watching a haul or review by some of my favourite YouTubers and bloggers – so the day it became accessible I placed an order!
The online shopping experience is really nice and simple – I like the layout of the website and the checkout experience is super quick. There is free shipping over £25 and because there is a warehouse in the UK there is no fear of astronomical customs charges. Now the normal shipping is 2-5 business days – however when I placed my order on go live day my shipping then ended up being delayed and arrived a week after ordering.
Now I did get an email to let me know that because of the demand there was going to be a delay and I’ve been given £5 off my next order – which was a nice gesture.
So what did I order – first up was the Milky Jelly Cleanser. I’ve been using this for about a week now as my second cleanse and in the morning when I wake up and I’ve been really enjoying it so far. It has a lovely rose scent (I am a sucker for anything Rose scented) and the consistency is really what it says on the bottle! I find this leaves my skin feeling clean but not tight and very, very soft. Overal a winner and can see myself repurchasing this in the future.
That was the only skincare item I picked up because I have pretty happy with the rest of my routine – I did however pick up a few of the make-up bits.
First up I bought two of the balm.com universal lip salves – one in Birthday Cake and the other in Rose (told you I couldn’t resist the scent!). First up the birthday cake one smells insane – it really smells like fairy cakes which is lush and the Rose is lovely and delicately scented with a very subtle pink finish. Both leave the lips looking hydrated and soft with a glimmer without being shiny or looking too ‘coated’ which I hate. Now I will admit – these tubes are a lot smaller than I thought they would be – making them fairly pricey for what you get. The product is lovely but is it ground breaking – not really. I will use these and use them up and probably buy these again – mostly because I find the package dreamy if I’m honest!
Speaking of cute packaging I picked up one of cloud paints in ‘Dusk’ – a lovely warm natural cream blush. I really like this – it gives you a natural finish to the cheek and it is easy to blend and leaves a dewy glow on the skin. What I will say is a little goes a long way so I reckon this tube will last me about 10 years!
To add to the face-glow I picked up one of the haloscopes in Quartz which is a warm champagne colour. I have mixed feelings about this product – on my hand it looks gorgeous – it is a super dewy highlighter which gives a natural finish. It is a little tricky to work with – I find if you put it directly on your face it moves around what is underneath it so I’ve been using my fingers to pat it on the high points of my cheeks. It is pretty and perfect for lighter make-up days but sometimes I like a more blinding highlight to bring some life into my face.
I also picked up their latest release – the Wowder – and I think this might be one of my favourite products. This is a lovely, light powder which gives your skin a diffused glow, keeping shine at bay without clinging to dry patches or looking heavy. It is a dream and can see this being a frequent repurchase!
Lastly but by no means least is the cult product Boy Brow which is another triumph in my opinion. I picked up the colour brown and this really makes your brows look feathery and full without being crispy or feeling tight which I hate. I have been using this first and then filling in any sparse gaps with my brow pencil and I’ve had compliments on my brows – so clearly it’s working for me!
Overall there was more hits than misses – will I be making another order – probably! I do want to try more of the skincare
