February Beauty Favourites!

After what felt like the longest January in history it feels that February zipped by in a second! It was my birthday month which I celebrated with a fun weekend with great friends filled with drinks and board games and laughing – it was just what I wanted!
I also discovered some beauty gems this month that I wanted to share so this favourites is entirely dedicated to beauty and there’s a big mix of things from makeup to hair and body care… so let’s get started!

First up the only base that I’ve been wearing this month has been the Mac Face and Body foundation (£24.50)… yes, I know I am about 10 years behind everyone else in discovering this! This is the perfect light base that feels like nothing on the skin but it evens out skin tone and can be built up in the areas you want more coverage. It leaves your skin looking healthy and skin like which I love – combined with a medium to full coverage concealer you can achieve a look that’s flawless without being heavy and cakey. It also is a great foundation to mix with others, when I want something more long lasting I mix it with my Hourglass vanish stick foundation or if I want a more dewy finish I combine with my IT Cosmetics CC cream.
The reason I’ve been going for lighter coverage is without a doubt due to this skin cleansing game changer – the Kate Somerville Exfolikate Cleanser (£32). You can now get Kate Somerville on Cult Beauty so at the start of the month I ordered a little trial size set (I always do this where possible with skincare to check my skin won’t have a reaction!) and after a couple of weeks the difference in my skin was huge so I picked up the full size! It has ‘3 P’s’ technology – a combination of pineapple, pumpkin and papaya extract that is also combined with alpha hydroxy acids (glycolic and lactic) to leave the skin feeling super soft but not dry or tight. This has done wonders for some serious congestion I was getting around my chin and jawline and left the rest of my skin glowing, I haven’t felt this confident without make-up in months. I would go as far as say I think I’ve found my holy grail cleanser!
A little-hidden gem of an eyeshadow I have been loving is the ColourPop Supershock shadow in Ritz ($5) which I got as part of the NKLA x Laura Lee bundle. This is a super sparkly wonder shadow which I’ve been using as a topcoat to any warm eyeshadow looks. It doesn’t have huge pigment in its base colour which is a warm reddy, bronze colour but it is packed with glitter that has purple, bronze and blue reflect which takes your eye look to another level! It’s also SUCH a bargain for the price – don’t get me wrong you have to pay some customs fee’s but the products are so good for the price I don’t mind!

Now for body care – I had run out of shower gel, body scrub and body cream and was quite excited to be able to buy a full range somewhere (it really makes me feel like I’ve got my shit together when all that stuff matches!). I saw this ‘Being Sanctuary’ range doing the rounds on Instagram last summer and kept meaning to check it out. All the ranges smell gorgeous but hands down my favourite are the Water Lotus and Pomelo scent – it is dreamy! All the products are gorgeous, and I have loved showering, scrubbing myself then lathering myself in this gorgeous, super-rich body butter. The smell lingers well too so you smell super fresh! Plus it is usually all on 3 for 2 in Boots!

Last but by no means least – a haircare favourite! Now I haven’t ever really been an advocate for expensive hair care, but I had heard so much about Ouai haircare (hairdresser to the Kardashian Jen Atkins hair range) and like with skincare I bought a travel set to give it a go! I have since become obsessed with the Smooth Spray (£22) which really delivers what it promises! I spray this in my hair after it’s been washed and it not only acts as my heat protector but it also leaves my hair SUPER shiny, smooth with zero frizz….even if I air dry my hair!! It’s insane! It also smells lovely and doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it go greasy quicker which is what I’ve found for other products! I will definitely be buying the full-size next time I see!

Those are my beauty fav’s of the month – a little range of things from head to toe!! What’s been your holy grail product of the month – share below!
